"The debut album from Boston Scottish fiddler Katie McNally is an absolute joy to listen to! Her playing is at once fun-loving, ballsy, and graceful, and her beautifully crafted arrangements and original tunes make for a wonderfully varied and exciting listening experience. Highly recommended!" —Natalie Haas, cellist

"The new face of Scottish fiddling in the USA" (The Living Tradition), Katie McNally has made waves in both the American folk music scene and abroad since the release of her debut album Flourish in 2013. Her latest project synthesizes her elegant and powerful fiddling with the talents of genre-crossing Neil Pearlman on piano and Shauncey Ali on viola. Katie's evocative interpretation of Scottish and Cape Breton tunes, combined with Shauncey's powerful harmonies and counterpoint, all anchored by Neil's rhythmically driving piano accompaniment creates a uniquely arresting take on traditional music.

The trio has recently returned from Cape Breton Island to record a brand-new album slated for release in Summer 2016. Under the guidance of producer Wendy MacIsaac (Beolach, Mary Jane Lamond), McNally has curated a collection of tunes that will draw inspiration from raw, mid-century recordings of Cape Breton fiddlers both in Nova Scotia and Massachusetts and be sculpted by the creative energy of the Boston acoustic music scene.
